Fringe World Festival Highlights

The city center and Northbridge remain the heart of the action as Fringe World continues to light up our summer nights. Several major shows have performances scheduled for today:

  • Bella Ciao! Songs for Nonna!: Starting its residency today at the Ellington Jazz Club, this moving musical tribute celebrates the stories and spirit of Italian migrant women. It is a soulful way to spend a Monday evening in an intimate setting.
  • Alone: The Sacred Riana LIVE: For those who prefer their entertainment with a side of mystery and chills, the world-famous illusionist continues her run at the Perth Town Hall. Her unique blend of magic and horror remains one of the most talked-about acts of the season.
  • The Lady Boys of Bangkok: This high-energy, glamorous cabaret show is performing tonight at the Woodside Pleasure Garden in Northbridge. The venue itself is free to enter and offers a variety of food stalls and bars to enjoy before the show.

Museum and Art Gallery Exhibitions

If you are looking for an indoor escape or a daytime cultural experience, the Perth Cultural Centre is hosting world-class exhibitions today:

  • Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor: This blockbuster exhibition at the WA Museum Boola Bardip is open from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Visitors can see the ancient Chinese treasures up close and explore the incredible history of the First Emperor’s tomb.
  • Last Chance for Re-PLAY: Today is the final day to experience "Re-PLAY" at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. This participatory exhibition is designed to reignite the power of play and imagination through interactive art installations.
  • Spirit of the Brush: Located within the museum's Epoch Cafe, you can view the intricate botanical works of Jane Li, which feature stunning watercolor depictions of Western Australian flora and fauna.

Evening Cinema Under the Stars

The warm February evening is perfect for an outdoor movie experience. Tonight features some excellent options for film lovers:

  • Lotterywest Films at UWA: The Perth Festival’s film season continues at the Somerville Auditorium. Tonight marks the start of the screening for "Sound of Falling," a poignant drama set against the beautiful backdrop of the university’s iconic pine trees.
  • Community Cinemas Burswood: Head down to the Burswood Parklands where gates open at 6:30 pm. It is an ideal spot for a family picnic before the film begins at 7:45 pm.
