City of South Perth Infrastructure Works
The City of South Perth has announced the commencement of major footpath replacement works starting today, Monday, 23 March 2026. The project focuses on the Karawara laneways located between Boongala Close and Kardan Circuit. These upgrades are part of the City’s commitment to improving pedestrian safety and accessibility and are expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Additional works approved for the week of 23 March to 29 March include general road maintenance and streetscape improvements. Residents living in immediate proximity to construction zones have been notified of potential noise and limited driveway access during daylight hours.
Public Tenders and Procurement
The City of Perth currently has several active procurement opportunities. Local contractors and service providers are reminded of the following deadline:
- Tender No. RFT000277: Construction of the Mardalup Park Public Toilet facility. This tender is set to close at 2:00 PM AWST tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 March 2026. Submissions must be lodged via the official electronic tendering portal.

Strategic Planning: Towards 2036 and Beyond
Following the recent endorsement of the "Shaping Perth City Centre" vision, the City of Perth is moving forward with plans for several major legacy projects. This long-term framework includes the development of the Buneenboro Loop, a connected waterfront route, and the transformation of William Street into a designated 'green spine.' While the initial public survey phase has concluded, the City continues to review community feedback to inform the final Capital City Plan expected for mid-2026.
Health and Safety Advisory
WA Health reminds residents and those traveling to the Kimberley region to maintain vigilance against mosquito-borne viruses. Following recent seasonal weather patterns, there is a continued risk of virus transmission. The public is urged to wear protective clothing and use effective repellents when outdoors, particularly at dawn and dusk.
