The WA Department of Health has issued an active health alert following the identification of multiple measles cases in Western Australia. As of March 10, the advisory remains in effect for the Perth metropolitan area. Measles is a highly infectious viral illness that spreads through airborne droplets. Residents who visited public exposure sites or have recently returned from overseas are urged to monitor for symptoms for up to 18 days.

• Symptoms to watch for: High fever, runny nose, cough, and sore red eyes, followed by a red blotchy rash.
• Action required: If symptoms develop, contact your GP or an after-hours clinic via telephone before visiting to prevent further spread. Ensure vaccinations are up to date, particularly for those born after 1965.

Infrastructure Alert: John Oldham Car Park Closure

The City of Perth wishes to remind motorists that the John Oldham Car Park remains closed for essential resurfacing works. This closure is scheduled to continue until Friday, 13 March 2026. During this period, all parking bays within the facility are unavailable to the public.

• Location: John Oldham Park, Mounts Bay Road.
• Alternative Parking: Commuters are encouraged to utilize the City of Perth Parking (CPP) app to locate nearby facilities such as the Mounts Bay Road or Point Fraser car parks.

Road Access: Telethon Avenue Closure

Ongoing major works continue to impact Telethon Avenue. A full road closure is currently in place and is expected to remain until August 2026. Traffic management and detours are active in the surrounding area. Local access to adjacent businesses is being maintained; however, through-traffic should seek alternative routes through the CBD.

The Western Australian Government, through the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification, announces the commencement of Energy Exchange Australia (EXA) 2026. This premier energy supply chain event runs from Tuesday, 10 March to Thursday, 12 March at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC).
