Residents are urged to remain vigilant for symptoms including high fever, sore red eyes, a cough, and a runny nose, which are typically followed by a distinctive red blotchy rash.

Because measles is highly infectious and can remain in the air for up to 30 minutes after an infected person has left a room, the public is advised to ensure their vaccinations are up to date.
